What is Messy Church? updated 2010

Messy Church is about experiencing a story from the bible without having to sit still, or be too religious or look in any way solemn! We literally make the story of the day, feel the story, touch the story and climb into the story.
Here's how it goes... first we have about an hour of craft & discovery activities. This is not just for kids but for families to spend time together and have fun. You choose from about 6 or more crafts which each tell a small piece of the story.
We then spend about 15 mins together singing a fun song, using simple prayers and thinking about the meaning of the story...
...followed by the best bit... FOOD! We then enjoy a great child friendly lunch or tea and chat. Messy Church is about experiencing a story, discovering the meaning and enjoying time together as families.
Guess what ... it's all FREE! We do have a tin for donations but we never charge.
Why not try Messy Church for yourself? The next dates are:

SUNDAY 24th January, 3.30pm - A MESSY START
SUNDAY 21st February, 3.30pm - A MESSY WAIT
SUNDAY 28th March, 3.30pm - A MESSY EASTER!

***EXTRA: Each month we hope to support a children's charity in small very small way and get the kids involved. Last year we sent over 20 shoeboxes full of toys to Operation Christmas child and collected £50 for the children's society. WELL DONE! For Jan & Feb please bring used stamps and plastic milk carton tops - we'll explain why. All this is optional of course!

Where are we?
Christ Church is on Old Market Avenue, Off South Street in the Centre of Chichester. You can phone on 01243 531594 or email Jon on ChristChurchJon@aol.com or look at the map below!
